Configuring Outlook 2002 and 2003

Follow the instructions below to configure Outlook 2002 or 2003 for use with your Quantum Networks POP3 E-mail account

1. Start Outlook 2002 or 2003

2. When the main Outlook screen appears, click on the Tools item on the top menu
bar (or press ALT-T), then choose/click the E-mail Accounts sub-option

3. Outlook will bring up a menu asking whether you want to add a new account, or
to view/edit any existing accounts. You will need to choose "Add a new e-mail
account"

Click "Next".

4. The next screen will allow you to choose the type of server you are
connecting to. Please select "POP3" as shown below, then click "Next".

5. The next screen labeled "Internet E-mail Settings (POP3)" is the area where
you will insert all the settings for your POP3 client.

6. In the Your Name box type the name you would like to have appear when other
people receive your e-mail.

7. In the E-mail Address box, enter your User Mail address.

8. In the Incoming Mail (POP3) box, enter "mail.yourcompany.com"

9. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type your outgoing mail server information
this is provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider). If you do not know it contact them
and ask them for your SMTP Settings and put it in this line ie - ISP-Insternet
Service Provider- example= Bellsouth, Comcast, ATT Cable, Etc.

10. In the Username box, enter your E-mail Address (username only will not work).

11. In the Password box, enter your Account Mail password.

12. Make absolutely certain that the box labeled "SPA Authentication" is NOT
checked.

13. BEFORE clicking "Next", click on "Test Account Settings". This will allow you
to make sure the information you entered will work with our servers. If the test
fails, check your settings per step 7 above then repeat the test until it is
successful.

14. When the test finishes successfully, you can click "Next" and you'll be
presented with a screen which says "Congratulations!" and you can click "Finish".

Configuration is complete

NOTE: *mail.yourisp.com* means your internet service provider like bellsouth.net, earthlink.net. AOL will not work with outlook express when sending out. If you do not know your SMTP outgoing settings contact your Internet Service Provider and ask them for it. You can also Google your Internet Service Provider's SMTP settings by searching for something like their name followed by smtp settings.

ISP Outgoing Mail Servers: BELLSOUTH (mail.bellsouth.net), EARTHLINK (mail.earthlink.net)
